Deidra Denton Merritt is a native Memphian, proud wife to Willie Merritt, mother of two adult sons; Zarius & Zackery, and delighted grandmother to Zion & Zoey.

Throughout her 27-year tenure, she has worked for Memphis City Schools and Shelby County Schools as an Attendance Truancy Administrator, District Training Manager and now as an Operations Facilities Supervisor.

As a member of the Facebook group “Parents of children with learning disabilities” she decided to expand into a private group “Mom’s with Purpose”, to advocate for other parents going through the process of having children tested for special services.
